I’m not sure how to sum up the past year but above all else, it’s made us closer as a family. Cheesy but true. This is the longest time we have spent together as a family of four since Conor was born (Neil is usually working abroad for a third of the year). And time is the key - no longer dictated by a busy diary it’s meant no more rushing - we could take the time to make and enjoy dinner, explore new walks, have a doss, be lazy etc. We made the most of it when we could. 

Don’t get me wrong, there were days when emotions ran high but we got through them. Again and again. I’m so grateful that the boys have had each other through all of this and despite their bickering, the bond they have is even stronger. We’ve missed all our extended family and friends massively but we know that when we can, we’ll be making up for all the lost time with them.
